A beautiful back will surely get you bonus points! You can also wear a very simple kurti and go heavy on the jewellery with a big, beautiful jhumka, bangles and necklaces. Above all, don’t forget to keep it classy, ladies! By: Madhu Bhatia It is time to trade those plain-jane shoes with a little luster this season. Metallic shoes are one of the most ubiquitous trends sweeping Sangam city this season and lending even the most basic outfit a touch of razzle-dazzle. Metallics are one of the most versatile and timeless hues that you just need to have in your wardrobe. These shoes work with any outfit and so it is safe to say that ‘metallics are the nude shade this season’, testify fashion experts. These metallic hues on offer in city stores are not limited to silver or gold only but offer a huge variety of colors. Various shades such as rose gold, bronze, gold or colored metallic shades can be worn to add a Midas touch to your outfit. From chic sandals, to comfy flats and statement heels, pair of metallic beauties will take your style up a notch. You can also carry the style in the form of iridescent sneakers, colorful brogues and oxfords for a tomboyish look. This trend can also be easily incorporated in your ethnic fashion by pairing them up with kurtas or sarees. However, do not overload yourself with glitter or shimmer by wearing a shimmery dress with some metallic shoes. When inculcating this trend in your personal style, keep a few things in mind. Firstly, do not wear metallic shoes with dominating prints or shiny fabric or colors. These shoes are quite overpowering and therefore should be the focal point of your outfit. Go for simple and classy clothes when you opt for these shoes. Secondly, be careful with the colors. Although it is the best to go with timeless shades silver and gold, you can always keep experimenting with other hues. A pair of rose gold shoes would go with whites better than black clothes. Be cautious when you choose colorful metallics like red, blues or browns. Pair these with colors that compliment the shoes. The next tip is to always wear shoes that have a fine finish. Cracked or distressed metallic finish will make your shoes look cheap and give an alternate look than what you intend. Young city girls are investing in some timeless pieces. ‘I swear by my gold and black sandals that I bought a few days back. They go with every outfit. Can’t wait to buy more of these!’, says Anamika, a city girl. Don’t flinch from adding a little luster to your outfit! Pair these glossy shoes with your favorite blue or white jeans, cute shorts, skirts or dresses. Make a style statement by styling androgynous loafers or sneakers with your skater-dress or your denims, or go for the complete feminine look by wearing chic flats or heels. By: Madhu Bhatia A plain tee is a mandatory wardrobe staple that can be styled for any occasion and can be paired with just about everything, from jeans to maxi skirts, from casual shorts to pencil skirts. One of the most overlooked items but with the most potential for outfit versatility is your plain tee. Fashion buffs tell different items that can be paired with the tee to suit any occasion, from casual outfits to date night wear.
“For the ultimate casual look, pair your tee with blue jeans along with heels or flats. Statement necklaces, bracelets and/or a colorful scarf can be teamed up with solid color t-shirts to make you stylish”, says Ashish Srivastava, a city-based fashion designer. Maxi skirts is one of the most sought after trend these days. You can pair the tee with a printed or a plain high-waist maxi skirt. This summer outfit is chic and comfy. “Very often I just put on a flannel shirt over my t-shirt. Rather than buttoning it up, I let it fly open. This is a cool and effortless look that can be carried easily”, says Aishwarya Shukla, an undergrad student from Delhi University. “These tee shirts can be worn with palazzos too. With your tee, put on your favorite palazzos and your flats, pair it with a sling bag for the perfect chic summer look,” says Ashish. Another casual outfit can be created with this tee when you pair it up with joggers. Sports luxe is a favorite among fashionistas this season that is flexible, flattering and comfy. Pair the tee with joggers or skinny jeans with sports shoes or sneakers, and you have got yourself a luxurious sporty outfit! “T-shirts aren't just for casual days but they work for evenings too. Simply pair your tee with mini skirts, skater skirts, wrap skirts, drape skirts or tulip skirts. Tuck in your t-shirt and put on some nice jewelry. Add a touch of glam with a beautiful clutch and heels”, says Tuhina Dwivedi, owner of Aayona boutique. If you don’t want to show your legs, you can always go with faux-leather pants to wear for an evening event. It can also be used for moisturizing nails, and other body parts. Coconut Oil: Having antibacterial qualities, the oil is rich in protein, vitamin E and fatty acids, which make it great for moisturizing skin and hair. It contains lauric acid, which can kill bacteria, viruses and fungus, keeping infections at bay. “It is a great natural sunscreen as it blocks about 20% of the sun’s ultraviolet rays. It can improve moisture and lipid content of the skin, making it soft and smooth”, says Dr. S.N. Yadav, a city-based dermatologist. Olive Oil: “This oil is loaded with vitamin A, vitamin E and antioxidants. Plus, it has a healthy natural dose of lactic acid, which gently exfoliates your skin and removes dead cells”, says Dr. Yadav. It moisturizes your skin, treats acne and pimple fast, taming frizzy hair and fading scars. In addition, it helps reduce ageing and wrinkles. By: Madhu Bhatia Here in this article I wanted to share with you about how different lights are being used in parties these days and the big thrill it provides. Here I also wanted to share some important tips about the dark party lights. So cut the lights, enjoy some solitude in the darkness, snap the glow sticks and let’s get the party started. You can make it possible for your birthday party this year. Call your friends and play with neon and other different colored lights. Keep the space dark and burn out the thrill. You will see the outcome and people will also remember this occasion for their entire life. You can use some different glowing LED lights which will transport you to another world and you could feel the immense joy. Tips and tricks
1. Make the whole area completely dark. It is very easy to make a dark party successful, you just need to make some minor changes in the room. Make sure all the sources of light are blocked. Then you need to put some black and blue lights or even glow sticks and some good music will add a good vibe to the place. If you have windows at your place, use aluminum foil, instead of dark cloth to block out light by pressing the foil onto the glass and covering it with your hand all around the window frame. Ignore any unwanted heavy fabric in front of the door to block the light from the entry. 2. Set the mood throughout the place. Set the mood throughout the whole area and in the washroom too. In the washroom, if you have bright light fixtures there, you can replace it with filter coated blazing lights which are black light bulbs and leave the fixture detached. If you have fluorescent light then replace them all with one black tube light. If light can’t be replaced you can also use the glowing spray paint. They are easy to use and they can be removed by just putting water on the walls. The spray paint will reflect light as if it was in the stick. You need to understand that the process should be repeated every few hours as it loses its power quickly. By: Madhu Bhatia I get really sad when I see people posting their status saying gosshhhhh. While we are not that lucky to receive that kind of pleasure in this scorching heat of Delhi, like those lucky few who enjoy vacations in Goa every month. While exploring this city, I came to know about this very unusual place and the name itself is really different 'Lady Baga' cafe divulged by AD Singh - A brilliant restaurateur. I got so mesmerised by the interiors, done by his wife, Sabina Singh in this beautiful property . Lady Baga cafe in Delhi is a very vibrant and airy place . It got so many cool artworks and painting on the wall. The monkey in the middle gave way to lady on the beach, as lady Baga sets her Goan chic in the two storeys recently evacuated by Monkey bar in Connaught Place, Delhi. Floors are covered with smooth sand, the area resounds with smooth jazz and the sprinkle of indoor fountains, it's walls portrays a live feed from a beach itself. It's a slice of Goa. As asked to Mr. A.D. Singh if he is confident of this place to do good in the market he says , 'since there aren't too many good places with good food and a relaxed atmosphere, I am sure it will surely grab the attention of the people out here. The whole experience was wonderful, I ordered food and a drink and I could feel all the stress about work just leave my body. It feels you are sitting in Goa in the middle of Delhi.
